One of the benefits my clients start to feel right away is that they are less sore from their workouts. It might get ego down at the beginning, as you’re no longer feeling that after-burn. But that’s generally a good thing.
When the body is no longer consuming mass amounts of carbohydrates and starts consuming healthy fats, it becomes less inflamed.
Research has found that the body is less inflamed before working out to begin with. Making this an excellent benefit for Keto-adapted athletes to train for longer periods of time. Putting this all into context, healthy fats are going to lubricate your body to cause less inflammatory.
BENEFIT #2 Steady energy throughout the day
Another high fat diet benefit that my clients feel right away is that they have a steady flow energy. They’re more productive as they’re no longer crashing/napping in the middle of the day and especially after eating their lunch.
This comes down to them not spiking their glucose up and down throughout the day, hence the reason they have that steady flow of energy. Have you ever noticed that you’re feeling lethargic and sleepy after eating a bowl of white rice or sugary sweets? These types of carbohydrates are high glycemic, meaning that tend to spike your blood glucose levels causing you to feel this way.
BENEFIT #3 Less of an appetite
A benefit which is somewhat of a gift for my clients who want to lose weight, yet a curse for those wanting to gain. Fats have been found to be extremely satiating, reducing appetite within most people.
