How To Reduce Bad Cholesterol With Food
Cholesterol is a waxy substance which is produced in the body by the liver but is also found in some foods. It plays a vital role in cell management and is also needed to make Vitamin D, some hormones, and bile for digestion. However, excessive cholesterol in the blood can increase the risk of deadly cardiac diseases.
Cholesterol levels should be checked at least once every five years. The test that is usually performed is known as the lipid profile. It is recommended that people aged 35 and older and women aged 45 and older should be more frequently screened for lipid disorders. The lipoprotein profile includes:
Total cholesterol LDL (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "bad" cholesterol) HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) Triglycerides are fats that are carried in the blood from the food we eat. Excessive calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are changed into triglycerides and stored in fat cells throughout the body.
A few tips on how to control bad Cholesterol:
1. In order to keep bad cholesterol under control, it is advised to consume 2 to 3 pods of raw garlic on an empty stomach, daily. It is also advised to have a lipid profile test done.
2. Weight lose programs can also reduce high cholesterol levels immensely.
3. Aloe Vera juice, flax seeds. Wheat germ and turmeric are having high potency levels to reduce bad cholesterol levels.
4. Vitamin B-3 and Niacin also play a vital role in reducing high cholesterol. Foods which include vitamin B-3 consist of flax seeds, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, and potatoes.
5. It is very necessary to follow a low-fat diet to rule out high cholesterol. Exercise is also an important factor. As we grow older our bones become weaker. Therefore, we experience joint pains and many other disease.
6. A couple of tablespoons of Olive Oil in our daily diet can help us tremendously.
